Biography

Torres joined Menudo in 1989, replacing Ricky Martin. Torres gained teen idol status in Latin America when Menudo released the Los Ultimos Heroes CD. Los Ultimos Heroes proved to be one of Menudo's last major international hits. During those days,Torres also recorded a Portuguese version for his first album called "Os Ultimos Herois"

Torres and Avellanet both left Menudo in 1991, and almost immediately became bandmates again, in a group, Euphoria, that had some success but eventually broke up.

In 1999, Rawy went to Los Angeles, CA where he produced and recorded his first solo album called "Por si de amor se trata". The artist had the chance to work with renowned musicians like Vinnie Colaiuta, Michael Thompson and Neal Stubenhaus among others.

Torres then started a Bachelor's Degree in Business that was completed with honors in 2004 with a major in Marketing.

Rawy Torres reappeared with some of his former bandmates in a reunion group that was inspired by the success of El Reencuentro, another group that was composed by six former Menudos from the early 1980s. Torres and his fellow former Menudo bandmates, including Avellanet, named their reunion group Los Ultimos Heroes, like the album that had helped the late 1980s version of Menudo regain a fan base in Latin America.

Personal life

In 2005, Rawy became a Christian. He became part of the Christian congregation in "Pabellon de La Victoria" at Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. He moved to Miami, Florida in 2007 and he is currently part of the Worship Minister in Ekklesia Global Church. He is married, and he keeps performing as a gospel singer, musician and musical producer.
